Travelling by car is often a matter of convenience and habit. Below are some ideas on other ways to get around while also reducing energy use.

Car pooling. If work colleagues live close by then try share car journeys to and from work

Use public transport such as buses and trains where possible.

If you use your car to shop, do all your shopping in one trip per week and try to do as many other errands on the same trip as possible.

For short journeys try leaving the car at home and walking or cycling. The added benefit to walking or cycling is that they are also good for your heart and health.
